The Islamic Academy Philosophy

“Building Righteous Leaders For Our Community”

The aim of the Islamic Academy is to give our children an Islamic identity and a high quality education.  This includes state-of-the-art training in physical and social sciences, and at the same time inculcation of the values, which make individuals good human beings and useful members of society.  Students will be prepared to take a role in the scientifically and technologically advanced world.  At the same time, their social and spiritual needs will not be ignored.  The highest standards of values, morals, etiquette, and a drive for excellence in all walks of life will be developed through an Islamic education which demands a complete discipline in one’s individual and social life.

We recognize that although children develop according to a normative pattern, they vary greatly in the rate at which they grow.  Our program strives to foster feelings of success and competence as children acquire new skills at their own pace.  We also appreciate their individual differences in temperament and learning styles and make modifications when necessary.

School Wide Objectives

The Islamic Academy school-wide objectives include:

  • To teach students to strive for excellence in all that they do
  • To teach a love for Islam by example and through Islamic and Qu’ranic studies
  • To teach the practice of Islam by demonstration
  • To prepare students at the level necessary for worldly success
  • To teach our students social awareness and responsibility through involvement in community causes
  • To educate the whole child, physically, spiritually, intellectually and emotionally
  • To teach the concept of faith with action through the example of our staff and administration
  • To teach the love of Qu’ran and the Arabic language through classroom instruction

The Islamic Academy Building:

The Islamic Academy building was originally built and used as a public elementary school for over 50 years.  The school is adjacent to a public park.  An alarm system and security cameras are in place.  The entrance doors to the school are locked at all times for security purposes.  All visitors and late arrivals must report to the office.  More information regarding specific procedures for arrival, dismissal, absences, tardies, emergencies and school cancellations are available in the Parent/Student Handbook given on the day of orientation.
